Deacs Do: Andrew Riggs (’27)

Discovering new cancer treatments starts with curiosity and the next generation of researchers. During the summer of 2026, undergraduate Andrew Riggs (’27) is working alongside Wake Forest professor Ulrich Bierbach and doctoral student David Halatek (Ph.D. ’27) to develop innovative drug-delivery strategies for chemotherapy-resistant cancers. Through hands-on research and mentorship, Andrew is building expertise in medicinal chemistry while contributing to research that could help advance future cancer therapies.
